Wanna Hear Something Really Funny?

You know what's really funny about this?

Well, besides the wall of flaming alligators, that is. It's that I had no idea who Michael Bay is. Yet, not only did this xkcd comic mention him, so did an article in Daily Galaxy. He must be someone important, right? Turns out that, according to his IMDB entry, he's been responsible for a string of awful-sounding movies over the last decade or so. Who needed a remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, let alone a sequel? The only movie he's been involved with that I've seen was the reprehensible Armageddon, the first movie that actually made the idea of being hit by an asteroid even scarier than it should have been already. (Who'd want his fate to be in the hands of those clowns?) He was only a producer for that movie, but it seems to have set the tone for all his later accomplishments.

So that's what's even funnier - this is what passes for an important idea guy in Hollywood these days.
