Cool Graph Of The Day

From the GraphJam site, a graph about book requests:

funny graphs and charts

Having worked at a bookstore, and having heard stories of friends and relatives who have worked in bookstores and libraries, I can attest to the accuracy of this graph, particularly the green portion.

Everyone else either knows what they're looking for or can use a card catalog.

Does your graph cover the requests for:

"That Book" Mitchell Symons (ISBN 0-593-05240-4)?

People who know all that don't bother requesting it enough to be statistically significant.

As proof, I offer the search at Amazon. It's the first entry.

The green bit actually has too much info. When I worked at the bookstore, it was always, "I'm looking for a book. I can't remember the title, the author, or what it was about, but it's this big and it's blue." We actually got the question in that format so often that, upon hearing it for the 47,000th time, one of our managers joked, "Oh, it's over there in our 'This Big and Blue' section." And the customer actually started to walk over to the shelves thinking she was serious.

*facepalm*

There are many visitors to bookstores, particularly at this time of year, who aren't used to the idea.
