It's Not Blog Amnesty Day: 2010 Edition

Once again, somewhere on the Internet it's Blog Amnesty Day. Not here. We don't do blog amnesty for reasons I've already explained. Suffice to say that there are just too many rules, like I have to find five blogs that are smaller than mine, I can't complain about how little traffic I get, and I have to tell someone that I did this.

Well, there are very few blogs that get less traffic than I do, and I'd say that if they got that little traffic, I probably won't have seen them, either. I don't feel like being limited by numbers, and if I want to complain about how little traffic I get, why can't I? What good is a blog if you can't complain about things? And, as Jesus once said, things you do when no one notices are the most sincere.

We do, however, add new blogs to the blog roll from time to time, and I'll list some of the new ones here. In roughly alphabetical order, they are:

  • Electric Worry - Lex blogs about whatever comes into his mind, sometimes at length, but in entertaining and interesting ways.

  • Ian Welsh - Ian, whom I quote frequently, is an economist and general gadfly who takes an awful lot of interest in American politics for a Canadian. He probably gets way more traffic than I do, but he's a new addition here, and he's just getting started on his own. It's theoretically possible that some reader here could be wondering where he got to after leaving FireDogLake. Besides, did I mention that it's not Blog Amnesty Day here?

  • Montana Maven - The Maven is a political activist from, believe it or not, Montana. She's inspired at least one story here, and is one of those people I'd like to be when I grow up.

  • The Way Things Break - This blog's been around awhile, but it's a good one. It's primarily concerned with climate change and other ecology issues. If you're looking for an antidote to climate denialism, this is a good one to check out.

  • Tome Of The Unknown Writer - Author, sports fan, and Pittsburgh native Bill Campbell talks about the stuff he's interested in. His Health Care Stories Project alone is worth a mention and a visit. I didn't mention him last time it wasn't Blog Amnesty Day, and I've finally made up for that faux pas. If only all my faux pas were that easy to fix.

I didn't mention Pygalgia, an engaging blog from the engaging town of Flagstaff, Arizona, because then that would be six blogs, and we couldn't have that, could we? Plus, he's not on the blog roll yet, because it says "Blogs I Read". If I continue reading, it will be there, but it's worth checking out.

Congratulations to all the blogs on the list for creating blogs worth reading.

UPDATE: I also didn't mention recent blog roll inductee Naked Capitalism, partly because it's so big it doesn't need my help, and partly because it's been around for quite a while. But it does have the word "Naked" rather prominently in the title, which ought to be worth a few extra hits, right?

Thanks, Cujo. Yeah, i can be verbose but sometimes i don't care enough to tighten it up.

I'd put a list like this up, but i think i'd have a hard time finding blogs with fewer views than mine...which is ok. The best of what i do actually gets posted at Scholars & Rogues and The Agonist.
