Speaking of lightweight, hardly a day has gone by since I wrote this:

I don't get to see many science fiction movies anymore. The last one I saw, the new Star Trek, was a mindless explosion fest, so full of contradictions and absurdities I think I spent the last half of it dumbfounded.

We can either believe that they read what I wrote and took it from there, which is a thing I find distressingly unlikely, or else there's more than one of us out there who finds the average major Hollywood movie to be disturbingly mindless.
