It was a video that played on MTV back in the '80s, of course, but I hadn't seen it in forever. The Smithereens had a precise style of playing that made it seem like they'd figured out how to play a song with the least motion possible. They even looked kinda nerdy - it was like watching engineers play rock and roll.
